Workflow Terminology

Inpainting: The process of reconstructing lost or deteriorated parts of an image. In AI Art, it is used to fix specific defects (hands, eyes) without regenerating the whole image.
Outpainting: Generating new pixels outside the original borders of the image to expand the canvas or change the aspect ratio.
